Desigualdad de las rentas de mercado en España: procesos generadores y políticas

Resumen

A lo largo de las últimas cuatro décadas, la desigualdad de las rentas de mercado en España ha aumentado de manera significativa, hasta alcanzar un índice de Gini cercano a 50. Dada su elevada magnitud y evolución, este artículo estudia los procesos generadores de la distribución de las rentas de mercado. Nos centramos aquí en el cambio tecnológico, la globalización, el funcionamiento del mercado laboral y la educación. Además, analizamos posibles políticas que puedan ayudar a reducir la desigualdad en origen –antes de impuestos y prestaciones–, prestando especial atención a aquellas que mejoran la igualdad de oportunidades.
