El mercado de las apuestas deportivas en España: Situación actual y desarrollos recientes

Resumen

Las apuestas deportivas dependen en gran medida del bienestar de la industria del
deporte, con la que mantienen una relación de codependencia y a la que aportan beneficios
y riesgos. Recientemente, el desarrollo de este mercado ha sido condicionado por la expansión
de oportunidades de juego, los avances tecnológicos y una mayor disponibilidad de
sitios de apuestas en Internet, así como por los efectos derivados de las restricciones adoptadas
a raíz de la pandemia de COVID-19. Este artículo ofrece una visión económica de la
evolución reciente y el estado actual de la industria española de las apuestas deportivas.
