Los Bancos Regionales de Desarrollo: cambios en sus funciones y desafíos futuros para la transición ecológica

Resumen

Los Bancos Regionales de Desarrollo son esenciales para el desarrollo mundial. Este artículo expone cuatro razones fundamentales que explican por qué estos bancos son importantes para el desarrollo actual. Para ello, se analizan los cambios que han experimentado los bancos a lo largo de tres generaciones en su evolución. Como parte de este análisis, el artículo destaca las funciones centrales de los diferentes tipos de bancos establecidos en los tres períodos diferentes, pero también rastrea las formas en que los bancos establecidos en períodos anteriores cambiaron y evolucionaron sus funciones de acuerdo con las tendencias y políticas dominantes de cada período. Finalmente, se examina brevemente el Banco Europeo de Inversiones como parte central de una nueva y necesaria arquitectura europea para la transición ecológica en el mundo.
