Abstract

From 1898 to the present day, inequality has been far from evolving in one direction. The sharp reduction in resource concentration that occurred in the middle decades of the 20th century has given way in more recent times to a resurgence of inequality. This article analyses market income inequality, wealth concentration and the effect of redistributive policies.
