Abstract

Since 2008, a new stage of globalization has begun in which the local and the regional prevail over the global. The resurgence of nationalism, social demands for environmental and sustainability objectives, the change in the economic paradigm towards one in which markets do not self-regulate so greater government intervention is essential and new risks in a changing economic context force multinational firms to adapt their investment decisions and business strategies. Faced with new geopolitical challenges, establishing roots and connections with allied countries is essential.
